SEO Services in Surrey
Looking for SEO services in Surrey that actually bring in leads? There were 61,865 businesses in Surrey at the ONS count in March 2025, and around nine in ten of them employ fewer than ten people. This is a county of small firms competing across a lot of separate town markets, not one big one.
We do SEO & AI that gets local businesses found by people ready to buy. Not traffic for the sake of a nice graph. Leads and sales you can actually bank.
We’re in High Wycombe, working Camberley, Woking, Guildford, Farnham and across Surrey.
No jargon, no lock-in, no hard sell. Just honest feedback on what’s costing you.
What SEO services in Surrey get you
Surrey’s business count is falling, not rising. The number of enterprises here is down 5.2% since 2020, against 0.5% across the UK, and every bit of that decline is micro-businesses: 59,660 of them in 2020, 56,125 by 2025. That is the market you are trading in. It also means the firms that stay visible pick up work that used to go to businesses which are no longer there to compete for it.
SEO & AI makes your site easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to trust. We fix the technical problems holding you back, sharpen the pages that convert, and make sure Google and the newer AI search tools understand what you do and who you serve. Not rankings for show. Enquiries you can count.
Surrey businesses we help
Professional, scientific and technical services is Surrey’s biggest single industry, at 19.6% of local units against 14.4% across England. Consultants, engineers, accountants, surveyors, agencies. It is a county that sells expertise, and expertise gets researched before it gets phoned. Surrey businesses also survive better than average once they are going: 58% of the businesses started in 2020 were still trading three years later, against 53% across England. They just start less often. The business birth rate was 9.6% here in 2022 against 11.5% nationally, and every one of Surrey’s eleven districts and boroughs sits below the UK rate.
The structural fact that matters most for anyone marketing here is that Surrey has no centre. The county council describes Surrey as polycentric, with 27 strategic towns acting as employment centres, and there is no city anywhere in it. Guildford has bid for city status three times, in 2000, 2002 and 2022, and lost each time. So “Surrey” is not really one market. A business in Staines and a business in Farnham are not competing for the same customers, are not in the same travel-to-work area, and by the council’s own assessment are not in equally productive halves of the county.
Two more things worth knowing. Surrey County Council puts out-commuting at 42.5% of Surrey workers, with 23.2% of all Surrey workers commuting into London, and Surrey’s rail commuting share is roughly double the England average. A large slice of your potential customers are not in the county between nine and five, which changes when and on what device they look you up. Second, in the north of the county there is a genuine, unglamorous problem: Spelthorne, meaning Staines, Sunbury and Ashford, was in Middlesex until 1965, and plenty of businesses there still trade on a Middlesex address. Inconsistent county names across your website, your Google profile and your directory listings quietly hold you back, and it is one of the cheapest things to put right. We will also tell you what we cannot: there is no published Surrey-wide town centre vacancy figure, so we are not going to quote you one.

SEO services in Surrey FAQs
Should we target Surrey, or just our own town?
Your own town first, almost always. Surrey behaves as a lot of separate town markets rather than one county-sized one, so a page aimed at the whole county tends to be too vague to rank and too generic to convert. Get found properly where you actually are, then build outwards to the towns you genuinely serve. This page exists to tie those town pages together, not to replace them.
We’re B2B, not a shop. Does local SEO apply in Surrey?
More than you would think, and Surrey is the clearest case for it. Professional and technical services is the county’s largest industry, and those buyers search the same way everyone else does. They just search for a capability, an accreditation or a sector rather than a high street. The work is the same shape, and we judge it on enquiries rather than footfall.
Is this different from just paying Google for ads?
Yes. Ads stop the second you stop paying. SEO & AI builds visibility that keeps working. Most businesses want both eventually, and we’ll tell you which to start with.
