What law firm SEO gets you
Legal search intent can be extremely specific. Someone looking for help with a commercial contract is not looking for the same information as somebody dealing with divorce, probate or a property dispute.
The website therefore needs clear practice-area architecture. Each important service needs enough information to stand on its own, with sensible routes into relevant lawyers, locations and next steps.
The point is not ranking one homepage for the word solicitor. It is making the firm visible for the specific legal work it actually wants more of.
Where law firm websites leak enquiries
Practice areas are buried under broad department pages. Business law can cover a dozen different services. If those services have distinct searches and distinct buyers, one paragraph each on a giant page rarely gives Google or a prospective client enough information.
Lawyer profiles and service pages live in separate worlds. A visitor reading about a service often wants to know who handles it. A lawyer profile should also lead naturally back into the work that person actually does. Strong internal links help both the visitor and the site structure.
Location pages are cloned. Multi-office firms sometimes create nearly identical pages for every office. A useful location page needs the lawyers, services, local details and information relevant to that office rather than a town name swapped into a template.
Guides answer broad legal questions but never lead anywhere commercial. Helpful content is useful when it connects to the relevant practice area. A library of articles with no route into services builds readership, not necessarily enquiries.
The contact journey is vague. Legal enquiries are often sensitive. People want to know who they will speak to, what information they need and what happens after they submit a form. Explaining the next step can matter as much as another CTA button.
AI search and GEO for law firms
People are already using AI tools to understand legal terminology and work out what type of professional help they may need. That does not mean a law firm’s site should try to become an automated legal adviser. It means the site should explain its services, processes and common client questions clearly enough that somebody can understand when professional advice is appropriate.
AI systems can also use public information about firms, lawyers, offices and recognised profiles. Keeping those details consistent and connecting individual practice areas to relevant people and locations makes the organisation easier to understand and verify.
AI SEO for law firms should focus on clarity, authority and useful service information, not producing thousands of generic legal answers. We treat that work as part of SEO & AI. Nobody can promise a citation in ChatGPT or Google’s AI results, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Law firm SEO FAQs
Which types of legal business do you work with?
We work with solicitors and law firms, shaping the search strategy around the practice areas and locations that matter to the firm.
Should every legal service have its own page?
Not automatically. If it is a meaningful service with its own buyer, questions and search intent, a dedicated page often makes sense.
Can SEO work for firms with multiple offices?
Yes. Each genuine office can have its own useful location presence without cloning the same page repeatedly.
What does the Website Leak Review look at for a law firm?
We review practice-area visibility, office pages, lawyer relationships, internal links, useful search queries and the route into an enquiry.
Not a legal business?
Need SEO outside the legal sector? See all of the industries we support through our small business SEO services hub.
