SEO for Electricians

The jobs you want, from the searches people actually make

SEO for electricians is about being the firm that comes up when someone in your area types 'electrician near me' with a tripped board and a dark kitchen, or 'EV charger installation' with a new car on the drive. We do SEO & AI for electrical firms: a Google Business Profile that wins the map result, a page for each job you actually want, and area pages that mean something.

From £499 per month on a fixed-price SEO & AI package.

What SEO for electricians gets you

People search for an electrician in two moods. Urgent, when something has tripped, sparked or stopped, and they want the first local firm that looks real and answers the phone. And planned, when they have a rewire, a consumer unit, an EV charger or an EICR to arrange and they compare three firms on reviews, price signals and whether the website says the firm does that job.

That makes SEO & AI for an electrical firm different from generic SEO. Half the enquiries come from the map result and the Google Business Profile behind it, not the website at all. The other half come from a page that matches the job and the place: ‘EV charger installer Reading’, ‘EICR High Wycombe’, ‘rewire cost’. Most electricians’ websites have neither a proper profile nor those pages. They have a homepage that says ‘all electrical work undertaken’ and a phone number.

The point is not a traffic figure. It is the phone ringing with the jobs you want, in the areas you cover, from people who already know you do that work.

Where electricians’ websites leak jobs

The Google Business Profile is doing all the work, badly. For ‘electrician near me’ the map result is the result, and the profile behind it is often the firm’s name, a phone number and four reviews from 2022. Wrong category, no photos of actual work, no services listed, no replies to reviews, service area set to a single postcode. The firm with the complete profile and forty recent reviews gets the emergency call, whatever the websites say.

Every job on one page. Rewires, consumer unit changes, EV chargers, EICRs, fault finding, outdoor lighting and commercial fit-outs are different searches from different people with different budgets. A single ‘services’ page with a list of bullet points cannot rank for any of them. Each job you want more of needs its own page, saying what it involves, roughly what it costs and which areas you do it in.

One ‘areas we cover’ page listing twenty towns. A list of place names in the footer is not a page. Somebody searching ‘electrician Marlow’ needs a page about your electrical work in Marlow, with real local detail, or the firm two miles away with a plain page for Marlow gets the job. Two or three proper area pages for the towns you actually want work in is usually enough. We built our own area pages the same way, so we know what makes one rank and one get ignored.

No proof of the thing customers worry about most. People hiring an electrician are worried about safety and about being ripped off. NICEIC or NAPIT registration, Part P, public liability, what the certificate you leave behind means and a plain explanation of how you price a job answer that worry. Most sites bury the logo in the footer and say nothing else. Put it in words, near the top, on every job page.

Nothing for the searches that come before ‘electrician’. ‘How much does a rewire cost’, ‘do I need an EICR to rent out my house’, ‘how much is an EV charger installation’. These are the searches a customer makes a fortnight before they search for a firm. A short, honest page answering each one, with a price range, ranks well, gets cited by AI tools and brings the right jobs to the phone earlier and better informed.

Most electrical firms win locally, so our local SEO service supports the website and Google Business Profile as one search journey.

AI search and GEO for electricians

Customers now ask AI tools the questions they used to ask a neighbour: ‘how much should a consumer unit change cost’, ‘do I need an electrician to fit an EV charger’, ‘is an EICR a legal requirement for landlords’, ‘how do I find a trustworthy electrician near me’. The answers draw on pages that give straight figures and straight explanations, and they name firms whose details are consistent everywhere and whose Business Profile is full and recently reviewed.

For an electrical firm to be legible to those tools, the basics have to be spelt out rather than assumed. Electrician structured data with the services and service area listed. The same name, address and phone number on the site, the Business Profile, Checkatrade, the NICEIC or NAPIT register and anywhere else you are listed. A page per job with a price range in plain text. Registration and insurance stated in words, not a logo. Reviews that are recent and answered.

We treat this as part of the same job, not a separate invoice. AI SEO for electricians is what good electrician SEO & AI looks like now, and nobody can promise your firm will appear in an AI answer. What we can do is make sure the answer engine does not have to guess what you do, where you do it and roughly what it costs.

Three services, done properly

Most electrical firms start with SEO & AI and add paid search only when they want a specific job type, such as EV chargers, to come in faster.

SEO & AI

Business Profile, job pages, area pages, proof and pricing content, and the structured data that makes it all legible.

PPC

Paid search for high-value jobs like rewires and EV chargers when you want them sooner, without paying for people looking for a course.

Social Media

Before and after photos and finished jobs, for the customers who want to see that real work gets done.

No mystery. Here’s the order.

Quick review

We look at the jobs you want more of against the ones you rank for, the Business Profile, Search Console, your area coverage and how a call currently reaches you.

Plan

Business Profile first, then the job pages, then the areas. Biggest gap first.

Improve

We fix the profile, write the job and area pages that are missing, put the proof in words, sort the structured data and get every listing saying the same thing.

Track & refine

We watch calls and quote requests by job type and area, not just visits, and keep going where the right customers are still not finding you.

SEO for electricians FAQs

Is Google Maps more important than my website for an electrician?

For emergency and near me searches, yes. The map result is what people ring. The website still matters for planned jobs like rewires, EV chargers and EICRs, where people compare firms, and it is what convinces Google the profile is real. We work on both because they feed each other.

Do I need a page for every type of electrical job?

For every job you want more of and people search for, yes. An EV charger customer and a fault-finding customer type different things and want different reassurance. A bullet point on a services page will not rank for either. Start with the two or three jobs that make you the most money.

Can SEO get me commercial work as well as domestic?

Yes, if the site treats them separately. Commercial buyers search differently, want to see compliance, testing and maintenance contracts, and are put off by a homepage full of kitchen photos. A dedicated commercial page and a clear line between the two is usually enough to start.

What does the Website Leak Review look at for an electrical firm?

Which jobs and towns you appear for now and which you do not, the state of the Business Profile against the firms that outrank you, whether each job you want has a page that can rank, whether your registration and pricing are in words anywhere, and where the enquiry journey loses people. Plain-English findings, whether or not we work together.
